About Me

Over the course of his career, Benjamin Barrone has accumulated diverse and unique accounting and consulting expertise. His management experience is bolstered by strong technical accounting and analytical skills like process optimization, auditing and risk assessment, financial analysis and budgeting, and internal controls assessment. He entered accountancy as an audit staff at Chicago's Plante Moran office, where he advanced to the position of Audit In-Charge after just two years. There he specialized in complex, high-risk audits and was a key team member for building solid client relationships. Chosen by company management to consult on a merger-and-acquisitions preparation audit, Benjamin Barrone spearheaded a number of audit streamlining and re-engineering initiatives, leading to more efficient audit processes and inventory internal controls.

He subsequently took a position as Senior Accountant for LaSalle Investment Management. Benjamin Barrone developed an original, risk-based, property review system as well as an automated program for calculating investment returns. He also created new policies to aid in efficiency of the conversion of equity earnings from IFRS to US GAAP. Altogether, the efficiency initiatives dramatically shortened quarterly reporting and facilitated increased capacity across departments.

Benjamin Barrone has since gone on to serve as a Regional Controller for Levy Restaurants, where he continued to hone his management skills and successfully translate previous experiences to financial review, budgeting, and forecasting in the restaurant/hospitality industry. In January 2016, he transitioned into his current role as a mergers-and-acquisitions and accounting consultant where he has been engaged to prepare a privately-held company for potential sale. His accounting expertise has been used to ensure the books are ready to withstand audit scrutiny including a comprehensive look at internal controls over financial reporting. Involved in assessing accounting process vulnerabilities, he also evaluates reporting controls for effectiveness and seeks out potential sources of earnings improvements.
